Magpies

Magpies are large black and white birds, however the males have white back of neck, upper tail and shoulder but the female is grey in these areas. Magpies like to live in tall trees for their nests. They eat worms, beetles, spiders, frogs, ants and lizards. In breeding season Magpies will get aggressive by swooping intruders. The Magpie is a very fast flyer when it tries to swoop. Magpies live in groups of 3-20 magpies. Their nests are made from sticks, twigs, grass and hair.
